Woven Image has long enjoyed a tradition of collaborating with the Australian arts community. More recently, it began work with Dacou Aboriginal Gallery, which represents the Minnie Pwerle estate, to produce a striking collection of textiles and vertical finishes based on the paintings of the late Minnie Pwerle.

Widely regarded as one of Australia’s leading contemporary female artists, Minnie’s style was free and spontaneous. Her work made bold use of colour, and reflected her deep connection with the land.

The Minnie Pwerle Collection from Woven Image represents 3 of Minnie's paintings, which have free-flowing and parallel lines depicting the body painting designs used in indigenous women’s ceremonies.
The motifs found in Minnie's art have been given a contemporary spin. Sunburnt yellows, ochres and clay tones are offset by black and white for striking effect.
