Saturday in Design, which made its first big splash in Singapore last May, will be back in force on 6 October 2012 with yet more tailored and highly interactive design-led programmes aimed at the local and regional design community.

The annual trade event, which began in Sydney in 2003, takes place on alternate years in Sydney and Melbourne, and has traditionally been a platform for local and international products from hundreds of reputed brands to be launched to thousands of visitors in one day.
For one Saturday only, premier designer furniture, finishes, fixtures and lighting showrooms will open their doors specially to architects, designers, students and the public to view and engage with their products, preview exciting new launches and network with the industry.

Last year, Saturday in Design’s highly successful debut here in Singapore drew 2,400 people to over 18 locations and 70 international brands and design spaces in the city; this October, some 3,500 visitors are expected, while the number of exhibiting showrooms looks set to increase.

In addition, The Project, a major drawcard at every Saturday in Design event, will return this year with yet more eye-popping creative collaborations between exhibitors and designers within the showroom spaces. Following this year’s theme, “Hybrid”, creatives will be invited to blur the lines, mix things up, and redefine how we see the world. See past examples here:
