Art of Living

Now in Singapore at Going Dutch – designs from Art of Living that bring a fresh spin to the ‘less is more’ principle.

Art of Living, a brand under the Speravi Group in the Netherlands, began in 1994 as a ‘testing ground’ for young and promising, often unknown designers, though more experienced creatives were later brought in, ultimately resulting in an extremely well-rounded collection.

Leading the charge is chief designer Joop van Arnhem who, with a delicious dash of Dutch level-headedness, puts his own unique stamp on the familiar ‘less is more’ principle.

The designs under Art of Living are restrained, simple, well-crafted and refined, and are sustainably produced using materials such as solid wood, Kvadrat fabrics and stainless steel.

The brand is now available in Singapore at Going Dutch. Highlights include:

Art of Living

Sigma

The Sigma chair and table

Designed by Joop van Arnhem, Sigma’s frame comes in a wide choice of materials, from plexwood to bamboo and 5 different solid woods. The seat can be upholstered in fabric or leather.

The Palet table

The legs of Palet (top image) are made from the wood of the sustainably grown and decorative Acariquara tree. The wood is particularly strong and resistant to humidity and every piece has a unique shape – a feature that’s mirrored in Palet’s organically-shaped acrylic glass top.
