Punkt. has launched a limited version of Jasper Morrison’s AC 01 to aid reconstruction efforts in Japan.
September 29th, 2011
Swiss-based brand Punkt., in collaboration with Jasper Morrison and Seiko Clock Inc., launched the AC 01 alarm clock at the Salone del Mobile in Milan in April 2011, just one month following the catastrophic events that struck northeast Japan.
Moved by a desire to help those affected in the country, Punkt., with the generosity of Jasper Morrison’s design studio and the contribution of Seiko, has designed and produced a limited edition AC 01 with a red dial and white body to represent the country’s flag.

The clock was launched at the recent 9th London Design Festival.
For this initiative, Punkt. has joined forces with non-profit organisation Architecture for Humanity (AfH) where 100% of the profits from the sale of the special edition AC 01 will go to the Maeami Village Reconstruction to rebuild homes and play areas in the small fishing village, located in the Tohoku region, which was swept away by the tsunami in March 2011.
The first AC 01 alarm clocks that were launched in Milan in April come in 3 colours: red, black and white.
Punkt. for Japan: Still Time to Help kicked off on 20 September 2011 and will run through to December 2011. An entire section on Punkt.’s website has been dedicated to the charity where visitors can make voluntary donations or follow the progress of the AfH reconstruction project in Maeami.
