One may remember our recent coverage of the S$1 billion Asia Square development, located in Singapore’s new business and lifestyle district at Marina Bay.

Now we’re zooming in on a smaller project housed within Asia Square.

The Exchange

designphase dba has created a 5,000 sqft bar brasserie called ‘The Exchange’ with several distinct zones so customers can choose how they wish to relax after a hard day’s work.

The Exchange

The entrance area and area along the facade feature high tables with high chairs for informal drinks and bar snacks.

The Exchange

The dining cum lounge area is situated in front of the visually transparent kitchen. A soft leather island banquette, studded similarly to a traditional Chesterfield, anchors this space. The floor is decorated with a mosaic interpretation of a classic Persian rug, punctuated with contrasting materials, colours and shapes.

The Exchange also houses Southeast Asia’s longest bar, which spans 28 metres and is made of Statuario marble. The bar alone can comfortably accommodate 50 people while the whole establishment can host 5 times that number.

The Exchange

There’s a lower level (3 steps down) with its own bar. Here the atmosphere is more intimate and the palette of finishes warmer, making this space particularly suited for private functions of up to 60 guests. Smaller groups of up to 10 can also head to a separate private dining room for cosier gatherings.
